About the Examination:
The Diploma Certificate Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) is a state-level entrance exam conducted by BCECEB for admission into:

  • Polytechnic Engineering (PE)
  • Para Medical (Intermediate Level – PM)
  • Para Medical (Matric Level – PMM)

The exam is conducted in offline (pen & paper) mode.

Application Process:

  • Candidates must apply online via the official BCECEB website.
  • Steps include registration, filling personal and academic details, uploading a photograph and signature, and paying the application fee.
  • A short correction window is provided for rectifying errors after the last date of application.

Counselling Process:

  • Rank Card Download: After results are declared, candidates can download their rank cards online.
  • Choice Filling: Qualified candidates must submit their preferred colleges and courses online.
  • Seat Allotment: Allotment is done in multiple rounds based on rank, preferences, and reservation category.
  • Document Verification & Admission: Selected candidates must report to the verification center with original documents and a set of photocopies. Admission is confirmed after document verification and fee payment.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Polytechnic Engineering (PE):

  • Passed or appearing in Class 10 or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Minimum 35% marks required
  • No age limit

For Part-Time Polytechnic Engineering (PPE):

  • Passed 10th with 2 years ITI or 2 years of work experience
  • 50% marks in Science and Mathematics (each)
  • Minimum age: 19 years as of 01 July 2025

For Para Medical (PM – Intermediate Level):

  • Passed or appearing in 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
  • For Diploma in Pharmacy: Passed 12th with Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology & English
  • For GNM: Passed 12th with PCB, minimum 40% marks (General), 35% (Reserved)
  • Age Limit: 17 to 32 years (GNM upper age limit: 35 years) as on 31 December 2023

For Para Medical (PMM – Matric Level):

  • Passed or appearing in Class 10 with core subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
  • Age Limit: 15 to 30 years as on 31 December 2023

General Eligibility Conditions:

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Domicile of Bihar or eligible through parents serving in Bihar (Govt./Central Govt.)
  • Medical fitness is mandatory
