About Exam
The Intelligence Bureau (IB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the Junior Intelligence Officer Grade-II/Technical (JIO-II/Tech) Recruitment 2025 for 394 posts. This Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted recruitment aims to fill technical positions through a three-stage selection process comprising an online exam, skill test, and interview. Candidates with diploma or degree qualifications in Electronics, Computer Science, IT, Physics, or Mathematics are eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
Candidates must have one of the following –

  • Diploma in Engineering (Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications)
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics)
    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications (BCA)

Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen

Application Fee

  • Male candidates of UR/EWS/OBC: ₹650 (₹100 Examination Fee + ₹550 Processing Charges)
  • All other candidates (SC/ST, Female, Ex-Servicemen): ₹550 (Processing Charges only)

  • Level-4: ₹25,500 – ₹81,100 (as per 7th CPC) + allowances

Selection Process

Tier-I (Online Exam):

  • Objective MCQs, 100 Questions, 100 Marks, Duration 2 Hours
  • Sections:
    • General Mental Ability (25%)
    • Subject-related to educational qualification (75%)
  • Negative Marking: ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer

Tier-II (Skill Test):

  • Marks: 30
  • Practical-based, technical test

Tier-III (Interview/Personality Test):

  • Marks: 20

  • Reasoning: Coding-Decoding, Series

Subject-Related (75 Questions):

  • Electronics: Digital Electronics (Logic Gates, Number Systems), Analog Electronics, Circuits, Power Systems
  • Computer Science/IT: Fundamentals, Networks (OSI Model, TCP/IP), MS Windows, MS Office, Computer Organization, C Language, DBMS, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Web Technologies
  • Physics: Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electricity & Magnetism, Optics, Quantum Phenomenon
