Eligibility Criteria (as on 01 August 2025)

Age Limit

  • AAO (Generalist and Specialist except Legal and CA) and AE: 21 to 30 years
  • AAO (Legal and CA): 21 to 32 years
  • Candidates must be born between:
    • For 21 to 30 years: 02.08.1995 to 01.08.2004
    • For 21 to 32 years: 02.08.1993 to 01.08.2004
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwBD 10 to 15 years, Ex-Servicemen and LIC staff as per rules

Educational Qualification

  • AAO (Generalist): Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
  • AAO (CA): Graduation and ICAI Final Exam cleared and Associate Member of ICAI
  • AAO (CS): Graduation and Member of ICSI
  • AAO (Actuarial): Graduation and passed 6 papers from Institute of Actuaries of India or UK
  • AAO (Insurance Specialist): Graduation and Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India and 5 years’ experience in IRDAI-regulated Life Insurance Companies
  • AAO (Legal): LLB with 50 percent marks (45 percent for SC, ST, PwBD) and 2 years’ experience as Advocate or Law Officer
  • AE (Civil): B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering with 3 years’ experience in multi-storied building projects
  • AE (Electrical): B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 3 years’ experience in multi-storied building projects

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic Pay: Rs. 88,635 per month
  • Pay Scale: 88635-4385(14)-150025–4750(4)–169025
  • Gross Salary (Approximate): Rs. 1,26,000 per month in A-class city
  • Benefits: Pension, gratuity, leave travel concession, medical facilities, group insurance, loans, allowances

Posting Details

  • Posting will be anywhere in India
  • AAO (Insurance Specialist): Minimum 5 years in mofussil branches
  • AAO (Legal): Initially up to 1 year in branch, then transfer to legal cells
  • AAO (CS): Posting in Mumbai LIC offices

Selection Process

The recruitment process will be in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam (Online Objective Test)
    • English section is qualifying only
    • Different exam structure for Generalist and Specialist
  2. Mains Exam (Objective and Descriptive Test)
    • Generalist: 300 marks Objective and 25 marks English Descriptive (qualifying)
    • Specialist: 150 marks Objective and 150 marks Professional Knowledge and Descriptive
  3. Interview
    • Maximum Marks: 60
    • Qualifying Marks: UR, EWS, OBC – 30, SC, ST, PwBD – 27
  4. Pre-Recruitment Medical Test
